Pupil Premium is additional government funding to help schools improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and address barriers to learning.
Funding is allocated for:
-
Children who meet the criteria for targeted, benefits-related free school meals, or have been recorded as eligible within the past six years.
-
Looked-after children who are in local authority care.
-
Previously looked-after children, including eligible children who have left care through adoption, a special guardianship order or a child arrangements order.
Receiving universal infant free school meals, or qualifying through the expanded free school meals entitlement alone, does not automatically attract Pupil Premium funding.
Separate Service Pupil Premium funding supports eligible children from Armed Forces families, primarily through pastoral support.
At Our Lady and St Joseph’s, we aim to help every child achieve their potential. Our Pupil Premium strategy explains how we identify barriers to learning, use evidence-informed approaches and evaluate the impact of our funding. This includes high-quality teaching, targeted academic support and support for attendance and wellbeing.
Please see our latest Pupil Premium Strategy Statement below for details of our priorities, spending and the impact of our previous provision.
